On May 22./23. Sports Complex Musa holds Round 3 of European Championship for Autocross Drivers. This will be the anniversary for Musa as this will be already 20th time when a round of the championship is organized in Musa circuit. In 1990 Sports Complex Musa for the first time hosted European Championship. In the following 1991 the round in Musa was cancelled due to putsch in the country. Since then traditionally year after year a round of the championship is held and has become the main motorsport event in Latvia.


Sports Complex Musa was established in 1978 when a motocross circuit was build. After six years in 1984 the first autocross event was hosted in the circuit at Bauska and was followed by the first international event in 1986. Drivers from Czechoslovakia, German Democratic Republic, Hungary and Rumania visited Musa circuit. This was also the first time when Jaroslav Hosek battled in Bauska. Since then he has become the only driver who has came to Musa every year. After the first time when Europe came to Bauska the circuit and its infrastructure is upgraded year by year to reach the highest standards and performance.

This year Musa hosts Round 3 of European Championship and for the first time a round of Euraca Cup. This will be the opener for the Euraca season. Already 14 Division Tax, 19 Division 3 and 26 Division 3A drivers have sent in their entry forms. Euraca Cup will be represented at least by eight drivers. The support race for crosskarts B600 will face 10 drivers and will be counted for Latvian Championship.

Almost all Championship's leading drivers will be present in Bauska, except Olivier Dufour and Josef Marty who are not still listed. After two rounds the overall situation is unpredictable, just in Division 3A a leader is cleared out. It is Ondrej Musil who won first two rounds and now has eight point lead over Thomas Sheilberberger. It will be interesting to watch the possible comeback of current D3A champion Vit Nosalek and double champion Ladislav Hanak who are just ninth and tenth overall currently. In Division TAX three very competitive drivers will start their season - Alexander Kvashnin who due to engine failure missed first two rounds, Salavat Fathutdinov with VW Polo from Helmut Wild and bronze medallist of the season 2009 Vaclav Fejfar who omitted Round 1 and withdrew from Round 2 with technical failures. It is not clear information from Janis Bogdanovics yet. In Division 3 the situation is like the calm before the storm - it is not possible to predict who could shoot out in Bauska. Latvian fans are eager to see the Division 3 debut of Juris Kulikovskis who will drive self built car. The second awaited Division 3 debut of Janis Boks for the moment is delayed and he will shine up in B600 battles that are already predicted very intriguing for local fans as currently the best Latvian rally driver Ivars Vasaraudzis and legendary rally driver Ivars Caune have approved their participation.
