Latest decisions concerning Autocross
At its meeting in Beijing on 12 September, the World Motor Sport Council took the following decisions concerning Autocross.
Mon 15.09.14, 11:11AM

The World Motor Sport Council validated the proposal from the Off-Road Commission to elevate the current FIA Cup for JuniorBuggy to the rank of an FIA European Championship as from 2015. Introduced in the form of a Cup in 2011, the Junior category of Autocross (drivers from 13 to 21 years of age) has now achieved a good level of sporting and technical stability, and the 2014 edition of the Cup saw young drivers from eight different countries taking part.

The Nations classification will now include the results of the JuniorBuggy category in addition to the "traditional" categories, namely SuperBuggy, Buggy1600 and TouringAutocross.

In 2015, the final phases of the competitions counting towards the FIA European Autocross Championship will adopt a format similar to the one that has been in place in Rallycross since 2013. This change consists in replacing the succession of Finals C-B-A with two Semi-Finals and a Final. The method of awarding points will be modified accordingly: points (scale 10 to 1) will first be awarded to the drivers classified in the top ten at the end of the qualifying heats, followed by a second allocation of "Championship" points to the drivers classified in the top twenty at the end of the final phase, with the winner of the Final receiving 25 points (scale: 25, 22, 20, 18, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12,... 3, 2, 1).

As from 2015, the ban on restarting pronounced against a driver who makes a false start in the final phase will be replaced with a penalty of 5 "Championship" points. If a driver causes a second false start in the same Semi-Final or Final, he will not be allowed to restart and will be classified last in the race concerned.

Dommage que la commssion Off Road ne crée pas de Catégorie Crosskart 750 cc, car beaucoup de pilotes sont intéressés de la Finlande au Portugal
